DRAGON ACADEMY / RESPONSE PLAYBOOKS

If something happened, you can still take action.

Practical first steps after a suspicious message, account compromise or payment fraud. The sooner you contact the right provider, the more options you may have.

I shared my PIN or OTP

  1. Contact your mobile-money provider or bank using its official support channel.
  2. Request a transaction hold or account freeze where available.
  3. Change compromised passwords and revoke active sessions.
  4. Save transaction references and report the incident to the relevant provider or authorities.

I clicked a suspicious link

  1. Close the page. Do not install anything or enter personal information.
  2. If you entered credentials, change them using the official app or website.
  3. Enable multi-factor authentication and review recent account activity.
  4. If you installed software, disconnect from sensitive accounts and seek trusted technical assistance.

Someone is impersonating support

  1. End the conversation without sharing codes or transferring money.
  2. Find the organization’s contact details from an official source.
  3. Report the impersonating account to the platform and organization.
  4. Warn affected contacts without forwarding private information.

I paid a suspected scammer

  1. Contact your payment provider immediately and ask about reversal or dispute options.
  2. Keep transaction IDs, screenshots, timestamps and contact details securely.
  3. Do not pay “recovery agents” who promise to retrieve money for an advance fee.
  4. Report through appropriate local law-enforcement and consumer-protection channels.
